Our Story

The Cuyahoga Falls Oktoberfest Committee was formed back in 1979 and planning began for the first festival ever held on the Front Street Mall (now DtCF-Downtown Cuyahoga Falls) in the fall of 1980. The Oktoberfest Committee is a 501c3, non-profit organization made up of a small group of volunteers that love Cuyahoga Falls!

Over the many years, the Cuyahoga Falls Oktoberfest has raised well over a million dollars which has been donated back into our community in a variety of ways.

First and foremost, we have donated thousands of dollars to assist students in continuing their education by granting college scholarships every year to as many as six to eight deserving students from Cuyahoga Falls High School and Woodridge High School. Proceeds from our annual Reverse Raffle each winter go towards our Bob Cochran Memorial Oktoberfest Scholarship Fund. We wish this year’s, and every year’s, recipients of the Bob Cochran Memorial Oktoberfest Scholarship the best of luck in their future endeavors!

Our Committee also takes great pride in supporting the fight against cancer by actively supporting and donating to the Falls Cancer Club. The Falls Cancer Club is a privately funded organization in Cuyahoga Falls that helps cancer patients who may otherwise not have the financial support to keep up their battle with this terrible disease. Proceeds from our Dick Holle Oktoberfest Golf Outing that is held annually each August goes towards our donation to The Falls Cancer Club each year. Get in touch with a Committee Member to sign up a team of golfers today!

The Falls Cancer Club is just one of the many organizations that we have donated to, and continually support. Pick up a free program at our Festival for the full listing of past and present organizations and causes that we have proudly supported!

Our beautiful city has gone out of it’s way to create memorials and parks to create lasting memories and to provide a history of this city for its residents for many years. This is done through general donations from the community and other organizations like ours. We are proud to have been able to donate to just about all of them, including but not limited to, the Rain Garden on Sixth Street, The Indian Monument on Front Street, the Doodle Bug Memorial, Layborne Complex at Bolich Middle School, the Clock Tower and Interactive Fountain downtown and the Police Memorial.

We would like to take a moment to thank the community of Cuyahoga Falls for their continued support of our organization, our annual Oktoberfest festival, as well as our other events throughout the years! Without this community’s support, and the support of many local businesses and sponsors over the years, our organization would not exist and our festival would not happen. It takes countless hours/days/weeks/months of preparation and dedication by our volunteering Committee members, but we are determined to plan the best events we possibly can each year and to be able to support as many organizations in need as we can, and have, throughout the years!

We thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

The Cuyahoga Falls Oktoberfest Committee
